That's because her 83-year-old mom, Grace Hale, also of Whittier, reclaimed the necklace to model her own gown - originally worn in 1949. There was no quarrel between the two. "I had so much fun, " Winters said. "The best part was wearing my dress when my mom was there, too. Who gets a chance to do that? " In all, 12 women modeled wedding dresses - some of their own and some of other people's - before about 60 people. Seven were traditional American gowns, but others were traditional Korean, Indian and Muslim wedding dresses. The club holds the fashion show every year, said Jo Ann Winters, who served as reservation coordinator and is Wendy Winters' mother-in-law. "It's traditional to do this in June, " she said. "It has proved successful. " Members of the audience said they appreciated the show. "It was so beautiful, " said Carol Schweibinz of La Mirada. "It was interesting to see the ones from the different countries. " Winters and Hall weren't the only two models who were related.
